1. Senior Architectural Technician

We are recruiting for a Senior Architectural Technician who will work closely with and oversee our in house technicians on construction projects. The applicant will need the ability to motivate others, encouraging them to
increase both productivity and work quality. They should have knowledge in both planning and building regulations and be able to produce drawing packages up to build stage.

Duties include supporting and co-ordinating the work of the architectural technician team with the following: 

  • Manage and co ordinate the work of the design team when needed to do so.
  • Reviewing and checking for errors in others work prior to the issuing of drawing packages.
  • Mentoring and sharing experience.
  • Overseeing part time technicians when in or out of the office.
  • Liaise with the admin team on relevant CPD's to be held throughout the year (approximately 12 per year).
  • Manage and delegate Building Control schedules.

In addition to the above:

  • Measure site surveys are required.
  • Production of CAD drawings, to Blueprint standard conventions through stages from existing to technician issue.
  • Client liaison as required, ensuring works are within original quotation.
  • Preparing applications for approval by regulatory bodies.
  • Liaising with Regulatory bodies/ clients to achieve acceptable scheme/ approval as required.
  • Obtain specialist quotes as required.
  • Solving problems that might occur during the building process.
  • Making site visits to check on progress of construction projects if required.
  • Attending meetings when required.
  • Provide general administrative support as required by the practice.
  • Monitor and keep within time deadlines.
  • Attend technical seminars to keep up to date with current building practises (at office during lunch times).
  • Production of detailed technical proposal drawings, models and visuals using AutoCAD, Sketch-Up and other similar packages (where applicable).

Important Information:

  • We are situated down a single track road on the out skirts of Raunds so it is necessary for the applicant to own and drive their own vehicle.
  • 37.5 hours per week: 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday throughout the calendar year, with 30 minutes lunch break each day.
  • Holiday: 30 days (incl bank holidays) annual leave.
  • Salary: Negotiable dependant on experience.
  • Statutory pension provided via Nest (age dependant).

As the role requires regular liaison with clients the candidate must have excellent spoken English with a good telephone manner.

2. Architectural Assistant

We require an Architectural Assistant to join our growing team at our Raunds office. They will work on a variety of projects, from residential extensions and conversions right through to new builds, developments and commercial projects. The role offers a diverse workload including production of scheme and planning drawings, liaison with clients and attending site to carry out surveys along with our in house surveyors. Our close knit team work closely with senior members who will provide technical support to develop your skills.

The role requires you to:

  • Have a Part 1 Architecture degree, alternately experience within an architectural practice.
  • Be highly motivated.
  • Have good knowledge of AutoCAD LT.
  • Be a team player with the ability to work individually.

As the role requires regular liaison with clients the candidate must have excellent spoken English with a good telephone manner.

3. Architectural Technician

The ideal candidate will work on a variety of projects and work stages from scheme and planning to technical drawings. Our projects are extremely varied working on residential extensions, through to commercial and housing developments. This position is perfect for someone that works well within a team but also can priortise and manage their work to a schedule independently.

Requirements for the role:

  • Have the knowledge and capability to produce scheme, planning and technical building regulation drawings.

  • Proficient in AutoCAD LT.

  • Highly motivated and have an attention to detail.

  • Familiar with the current Building Regulations and with a good understanding of construction.

  • The applicant must have experience working in an architectural practice.
